2 years ago I decided to give away some of my old unused characters to creative commons. I was gonna do this every January. The problem is the year after I was too busy with Hurricane Stuff to post. In fact I seem to have not posted to on Deviant Art for the whoole year.
But this year I've wrangled up a handful of characters. There's a detailed write up of each one in the page I'm linking to as well as my logic in releasing them, but I can afford to go over it here a little bit.
Tldr I'm not 20 anymore. I've been against long copyrights for a while. And I think I am not going to in whatever I have left to live make the things I was going to with these characters. I could just keep them, and then have them until I die, and then everyone would just have to wait for 75 years until I die or maybe worse have everything I made die with me because It's on my degrading brain and note books. Or instead...I give them up now to Creative Commons now.
So I have chosen the Creative Commons route. I choose to let anyone who wants to use and abuse THESE characters as they see fit.
Sometimes when talking about copyright people's worst fear is someone else coming along and having success with their creation where they didn't. But I argue ...hey, if you make a billion dollar out out if something that's mostly my memories and drawings, I'll at least get the clout of having originally made it.

The bad boy rebel of my super hero team. With scream powers.
Frogirl
The Girly Girl if my Superhero team. With High Jump, wall clinging, and long tongue powers.
Semi
The sensitive artist of my superhero team. With energy construct powers.
Ketsume
The blind matial artist from my would be arena fighter.
Medusa: A tendril haired human experiment. I did not know about the Marvel character of similar name and gimmick at the time but they're different...enough.
La Gata
An attempt at a marketable mascot character.
Girlephant
An armored superheroine from a cringe webcomic I made
Oni Man
A character I made when I was 6 and remade when I was 16.
Kurako and Courtsy
Just a schoolgirl and her skirt, who is alive. Fun fact I think originally her skirt was supposed to be red. That was part of the issue for her that she's wearing the wrong color for her school. If you've never been on a school with uniforms couldn't understand how much this would be a problem every day.
Frostbite
An incidental character to my superhero stories. An ice themed character who can't control her powers.
I wanted to get this out by Public Domain Day but...I didn't instead you'll have to enjoy it in Public Domain Octavitas. See you next year... Maybe.
